My mother is a well of wisdom when it comes to essential oils. My siblings and I like to tease her about her “witchcraft” and the fact that she’s always “anointing us with oil” for some ailment or another as soon as we walk in the door. But, in all seriousness, I’m a firm believer in the healing powers of essential oils and would like to share the ones I use in my healthy, homemade beauty products.
You will find below a comprehensive list of essential oils to use in a variety of products for different issues from acne to hair loss. I add these oils into my facial cleanser, cream, body lotion, shampoo, etc. You’ll know which oils to add to which products based on the issue you’re trying to address (for example, for the issue of dry or chapped skin, I, obviously, add the corresponding essential oils into my body lotion).
For recipes for the healthy, homemade beauty products, you can visit my “Spring Clean Your Look Series” in which I talk about and give recipes for skincare, haircare, oral care, nail care, and brow and lash care. You can find the first entry of that series here.
Enjoy! (And thanks to my mother for doing the research and compiling this list.)
